Springvale South

Project Overview

Development Victoria is currently exploring options to transform unused surplus land at 15-29 Coomoora Road, Springvale South into a welcoming residential community that provides homes for a diverse range of people and households. Community members were invited to complete an online survey so we could learn more about your community and seek your feedback. The survey was open for 5 weeks and closed on Wednesday 6 March at 4pm. Thank you for your contribution.

The site at 15-29 Coomoora Road, Springvale South was a Department of Education (DET) site that was declared surplus. The land was rezoned in July 2016 from Public Use Zone 2 to Neighbourhood Residential Zone allowing the land to be redeveloped for residential purposes.

It is proposed that the development will deliver 85-90 residential townhouses with a mix of two, three and four bedrooms, and landscaped open spaces.

Approximately 5% of the total homes, will be sold to a housing association to deliver affordable housing for key workers.

The population of Greater Dandenong is growing. It is expected to rise from 147,000 in 2014, to 179,000 in 2024. This statistic not only impacts the local community but every city in Australia.

To solve this, Development Victoria will increase housing supply and offer a range of affordable housing options targeted to a broad range of people including first home buyers, growing families and those in need of assistance to access the housing market.
