Taylors Lakes

Project Overview

Project Image

Development Victoria has acquired the surplus Department of Education and Training (DET) site at 18 – 24 Robertsons Road, Taylors Lakes. The 9.1-hectare site was purchased by DET in the early 90s for a school but was not used for this purpose and remains vacant. It was declared surplus by DET in 2013 and has been rezoned, enabling DV to subdivide the land for new homes.

The development will feature a new new 3600m2 park that will be designed and furnished in consultation with residents and council to meet the community’s recreation needs.

Development Victoria is proposing a residential subdivision of approximately 175 lots ranging from 250m2 to 600m2. Almost 1/4 of the lots will be less than 300m2 in size, providing opportunities for more diverse housing. This responds to the Brimbank Housing Strategy, which has recognised the need for more variety and choice of housing in this area and has supported a moderate change to housing types in Taylors Lakes.

The site is well situated in relation to local amenities. It sits just to the north and within walking distance of the Watergardens Shopping Centre and Watergardens Railway Station, providing excellent access to shops and public transport. The site is adjacent to Overnewton Anglican College and close to local primary schools, high schools and childcare facilities.
